Different browsers handle the printing of frames differently. Microsoft's Internet Explorer 5.0 allows you to print frames as they are laid out or you can choose to print frames individually. Netscape Communicator 4.5 only allows you to print one frame at a time. Depending on the browser, you can specify your printing options.
OPTION 1: USING PRINT FRAMES BUTTON LOCATED IN THE TOOLS
FRAME
- When the information that you wish to print is displayed in
your browser (i.e. Map Frame at selected extent and Text Frame displaying Parcel
attribute information), click the Print Frames button
located in the Tools Frame. This event will open a new browser window where
the pertinent frames will be displayed in a single HTML document, without using
the tags associated with framesets. IF YOU ARE USING
NETSCAPE 4.5, THIS IS YOUR ONLY OPTION FOR PRINTING MORE THAN ONE FRAME ON THE
SAME PAGE.
- From the File menu choose
Print. The frames will be printed as shown in the newly
opened browser window.
- Close the print browser window.
OPTION 2: MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER 5.0 - PRINT FRAMES AS
LAID OUT
- From the File menu choose Page Setup to display the Page Setup dialog.
- Under
Orientation select the Landscapeoption.
- Click OK to close the Page Setup dialog.
- From the File menu choose Printto display the
Print dialog.
- Under Print frames select the As laid out on
screen option.
- Click OKto print.
OPTION 3: MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER 5.0 - PRINT ONLY THE
SELECTED FRAME
- Click the right mouse button in the frame you want
to print.
- From the Pop-up menu choose Print to display the Print dialog.
- Under Print frames
select Only the selected frame option.
- Click OK to print.
OPTION 4: MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER 5.0 - PRINT ALL FRAMES
INDIVIDUALLY (DEFAULT)
- From the File menu
choose Print to display the Print dialog.
- Under
Print frames select the All frames individually
option.
- Click OK to print.
OPTION 5: NETSCAPE COMMUNICATOR 4.5 AND UP - PRINT ONLY THE
SELECTED FRAME
- Select the frame you want to print by clicking in
that frame. To select the map frame you can either click the right mouse button
in the frame or select the hand icon and click in the
center of the map.
- From the File menu choose Print Frame to display the Print dialog. (Alternately you could
choose Print Preview to make sure you have selected the right frame).
- Click
OK to print.
